In 2009, the Open Door Clinic received a federal grant to expand outreach to migrant farm workers in Addison County. Over the years, we have grown from visiting two farms to conducting 49 visits in 2024 to 42 farms, orchards, and area businesses, providing vaccination, testing, education, and health screening.
Outreach clinics are conducted each fall by our Outreach Nurse, Julia Doucet, and a committed team of volunteers.
In 2024, Farm Credit East awarded Open Door Clinic a $25,000 Lipinsky Rural Initiatives Award in recognition of our outreach efforts. We are grateful to our partners at Champlain Orchards for their nomination!
